for reference - broken stuff

For reference, a list of things we have had to repair or replace this year. Like, since January 1, 2010.

Computer - old one was 7 years old and not really capable of handling our new habit of watching tv online. We had saved up half a year's worth of DISH payments (canceled last year) for this, so we were prepared.

Oven - stopped heating up. I kinda need an oven.

Kitchen faucet - Wes had fixed it multiple times, and it was leaking again. This time, it was leaking a LOT and costing us a fortune in very expensive water.

Car - replaced the master and slave clutch cylinders. It's got 140,000 miles so not terribly surprising. Also got a nice fat list of things that need to be fixed soon, so we're not done with that.

Washing machine - died. Nice repairman diagnosed it over the phone rather than charging me to come over and tell me it was dead. Alas, we had an attached W/D unit, so we also had to get a dryer, because we didn't have room to put a washer in the room next to a unit that had only a dryer. We bought separate units this time that will stack, but can be replaced separately.

Good news is that we got the W/D at a good price and are eligible for multiple rebates because they are Energy Star appliances. Also good is that we got our tax refund just in time to get the car fixed and the W/D. Sadly, not enough money seems left to get a new hot water heater, which I'm pretty sure is going to go next (it's 12 years old). And you know, the car still needs more stuff.

Being a grown up stinks sometimes.
