OK, so here are words Margaret uses on a regular basis, for the record. She can also mimic just about everything, but these are words she uses spontaneously without our help:
walk, buckle, choo-choo, mommy, daddy, doggie, kitty, fish, dish (and dishes), "mo" for more, "'nuff", bowl, ball, snack ("'nack"), bath (usually preceded by no), no, mmm-hm, water, baby/babies, Marshall (a friend from playgroup), "bo-ball" for football, "ba-ball" for baseball, off, "'nuggle" for snuggle, "diss" for kiss, boo-boo, rock (as in rock-a-baby or a rock from outside), walk, bunny, book, shoe, dress, "backu" for blanket, eat (usually in the context of "eat daddy" because we have to wait to eat dinner until daddy gets home...not really the eating of daddy), bus, Elmo, big, wash, duck, juice (which she doesn't really like), "mon-ey" for monkey, sticker, nose, ear, glasses, eye (this is big...watch out if she gets on the eye kick..she'll poke everyone's eye in pointing out how we all seem to have eyes), oatmeal (her new favorite food), "bakki" for broccoli. That's all I can think of, but she does seem to know lots of words all of a sudden. Soon we'll be discussing the Middle East conflict....
She also knows the sounds for cows, ducks, sheep, monkeys, and chickens. She's like her very own see n say.
